Yukon has won their second game at the 2025 Montana’s Brier in Kelowna, British Columbia. The team which is skipped by Thomas Scoffin, beat Prince Edward Island 8-5 on Tuesday night. Yukon won their first game at the 2025 Montana’s Brier on Sunday as they beat Nova Scotia 7-5.

The fact that Yukon beat Nova Scotia at the Brier is noteworthy because the western most territory also beat Nova Scotia at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario. On February 16, Yukon’s Bayly Scoffin upset Nova Scotia’s Christina Black 9-8 in the fourth draw. This was the only win for Scoffin at the Scotties, and the upset was also of significance considering the fact that Black only lost two games in the entire round robin and finished third overall.

At the top, there still remain three undefeated teams. Saskatchewan’s Mike McEwen is perfect at 6-0, while Alberta’s Brad Jacobs, and Team Canada’s Brad Gushue of St. John’s, Newfoudland have perfect records of 5-0.

Meanwhile, there is great excitement throughout the entire province of Saskatchewan about McEwen. Curling enthusiasts in the province are fully aware that Rick Folk was the last Saskatchewan skip to win the Brier. That was way back in 1980 in Calgary. Even though McEwen has Manitoba roots, he is part of the green and white now.
