Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 51 in Thunder win over Rockets

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Toronto, Ontario has scored 50 points or more in a single game for the fourth time this season. He accomplished the feat the fourth time on Monday in a 137-128 Thunder win over the Houston Rockets.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored 51 points in the win. He made 18 of 30 field goals, five of nine three pointers, and all 10 free throw attempts. Gilgeous-Alexander also had seven assists, five rebounds, one steal, one blocked shot, and was a +6.

All four of Gilgeous-Alexander’s 50 point games have come since January 22, when he had 54 points in a 123-114 Thunder win over the Utah Jazz. That was followed by 52 points in a 116-109 Thunder loss to the Golden State Warriors on January 29 and 50 points in a 140-109 Thunder win over the Phoenix Suns on February 5.

Gilgeous-Alexander is the slam dunk favourite to win the 2025 Lionel Conacher Award, Northern Star Award and NBA MVP.  He is averaging a NBA high 32.6 points per game. He also has 6.2 assists per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, 1.8 steals per game, and one block per game. Gilgeous-Alexander has a field goal percentage of .525, three point percentage of .374, and a free throw percentage of .896.

The Thunder are also the best team in the West. They are at 50 wins and 11 losses.
