The Toronto Raptors set a franchise record for the longest winning streak on Wednesday night. At the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, the Raptors won their 12th straight game when they defeated the Indiana Pacers 119-118 in dramatic fashion.

Toronto was trailing 118-108 with two minutes and 25 seconds left when they scored the last 11 points in the basketball game. The Raptors got their 11 points from a Pascal Siakam layup, Kyle Lowry three pointer, Siakam free throw, Siakam field goal after an impressive steal and a game winning Serge Ibaka three pointer with 30.4 seconds left.

The Raptors improved to 37 wins and 14 losses with Norman Powell out with a broken hand and Marc Gasol out with a hamstring. Toronto is second in the Eastern Conference right now and only behind the Milwaukee Bucks. They also have the best record in franchise history after 51 games.

In another impressive statistic, the Raptors set the Toronto professional sports franchise record for the longest winning streak. The Raptors had two 11 game winning streaks in the past and the Blue Jays have had an 11 game winning streak as well.

In the Raptors win over the Pacers, Toronto won despite being outscored by Indiana 43-18 in the second quarter. Lowry led the Raptors with 32 points. Other Raptors who were in double digits in scoring were Ibaka (30 points), Siakam (25 points), Terence Davis (11 points), and Fred VanVleet (10 points). Lowry had a double double as he had 10 assists, while Siakam led the Raptors with nine rebounds. Toronto plays Indiana again on Friday night.

In other Raptors news, the New York Knicks have named agent Leon Rose as their next president. So this appears to silence all rumours that Raptors Masai Ujuri is leaving Toronto for the Big Apple anytime soon. There was immense speculation that New York was going to bring on Ujiri when they fired president Steve Mills on Tuesday, but the asking price for Ujiri (as it should be) was extremely steep.
