Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec continued his remarkable moguls career on Saturday. The 30-year-old who won a gold medal for Canada in moguls at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, posted a score of 84.5 points in Ruka, Finland for his 105th career medal at the World Cup level.

Kingsbury won the gold medal by 4.02 points over his nearest competitor and long time rival, Ikuma Horishima of Japan, who was in second place with 80.48 points. Matt Graham of Australia won the bronze medal with 80.12 points. Kingsbury reached the podium by 4.45 points over Nick Page of the United States, who finished in fourth place with a score of 80.05 points.

Since 2011, Kingsbury has now won 75 gold medals, 24 silver medals, and six bronze medals. He has had only one bronze medal in the last nine seasons. There is a reason why Kingsbury has been recognized as “The King.”

What gives Kingsbury even more incentive this Olympic cycle leading up to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy is the fact that dual moguls will make its Olympic debut three years from now. I spoke about dual moguls being on the Olympic program in the future when I interviewed Justine Dufour-Lapointe back in 2017.
