Appiah now has five World Cup medals. The other three have come in two-woman bobsled as a breakwoman. The first two podium finishes were with Humphries, who was the driver when she represented Canada. They came in Whistler on December 3, 2016 (gold), and in Lake Placid, New York on December 16, 2016 (bronze). The third podium finish was with Alyssa Rissling of Edmonton, Alberta, who was the driver (bronze) in Pyeongchang, South Korea on March 17, 2017. The bronze medal for Appiah in women’s monobob on Friday will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
