Mike Hoffman traded twice in one day

National Hockey League player Mike Hoffman of Kitchener, Ontario was traded twice in one day on Tuesday. First, he was traded from the Ottawa Senators  to the San Jose Sharks and then he was traded from the Sharks to the Florida Panthers.

The deal between the Sharks and Senators saw Ottawa acquire left wing Mikkel Boedker, prospect defenseman Julius Bergman, and a sixth round draft pick in the 2020 National Hockey League Entry Draft. In addition to Hoffman, the Sharks also received prospect defenseman Cody Donaghey of St. John’s, Newfoundland and a fifth round draft pick in the 2020 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Then later on Tuesday, the Panthers acquired Hoffman for three draft picks, The draft picks the Sharks received were a second and third round draft pick in the 2018 National Hockey League Entry Draft and a second round draft pick in the 2019 National Hockey League Entry Draft. In addition to Hoffman, the Panthers received a seventh round draft pick in the 2019 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

In 2017-18, Hoffman had 22 goals, 34 assists and 56 points. However he was a poor -20 on the Senators this past season when it came to plus/minus.

Boedker had 15 goals and 22 goals for 37 points with the Sharks. The Senators become Boedker’s fourth NHL team as he has also played for the Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche.
