Canada trounces England 6-2 at 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship

Team Canada trounced England 6-2 on Tuesday at the 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship from Geneva. Switzerland. With the win, Canada improved to a record of six wins and one loss, and have qualified for the playoffs. The Canadian team is represented by Olympic bronze medalist Brett Gallant of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and Jocelyn Peterman of Red Deer, Alberta. Gallant won the bronze medal for Brad Gushue in men’s curling at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

In the Canadian win, Canada was able to steal two points without the hammer in the first end. Then after taking a 3-1 lead on England after the third end, Gallant and Peterman stole three more points from the fourth to sixth ends. The stolen points were a steal of one in each end. In the fifth end, Canada even stole one point when England had the power play.

The only team undefeated in the whole tournament at this time is Scotland, which had a record of seven wins and zero losses in Group B action. Canada has clinched at least a top three spot because they can no longer be caught by Germany, which is tied for third place with the United States at four wins and three losses. Canada plays the United States and Australia to close out group play on Thursday.
