Adin Hill collects 10th career NHL shutout

Adin Hill of Comox, British Columbia recorded his 10th career National Hockey League shutout on Sunday. He accomplished the feat in a 2-0 Vegas Golden Knights win over the New Jersey Devils at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Hill made 25 saves for the shutout. He made eight saves in the first period, eight saves in the second period, and nine saves in the third period. Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton of Toronto, Ontario and Timo Meier led the Devils with four shots on goal each.

Offensively, the Golden Knights got a game-winning goal from Mark Stone of Winnipeg, Manitoba at 1:27 of the third period on the power-play. Noah Hanifin and Jack Eichel had the assists. Hanifin scored the other goal for Vegas.

On the season, Hill improves to a record 22 wins, 10 regulation losses and four losses in extra time. He had a goals against average of 2.52 and a save percentage of .906.

This was Hill’s third shutout of the season. He previously blanked the Calgary Flames 5-0 on October 28, and the Edmonton Oilers 1-0 on December 3. Of Hill’s 10 NHL shutouts, five have been with the Golden Knights, three have been with the Arizona Coyotes and two have been with the San Jose Sharks.

With the win, the Golden Knights improve to a record of 36 wins, 18 regulation losses and six losses in extra time for 78 points. They have four more points than the second place Edmonton Oilers.
