According to 3DownNation on Wednesday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed linebacker Kyle Wilson of Bennettsville, South Carolina. The 24 year-old has National Football League experience as he played three regular season games and two playoff games with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018.

In the three regular season NFL games from two years ago, Wilson had two solo tackles on kickoffs. The first tackle came in a 29-28 Chargers win over the Kansas City Chiefs on December 13, 2018, and the second tackle came in a 23-9 Chargers win over the Denver Broncos on December 30, 2018. Wilson tackled Chiefs kick returner Tremon Smith and Broncos kick returner River Cracraft.

Then in the 2019 NFL Playoffs, Wilson had one solo tackle and one assisted tackle as the Chargers upset the Baltimore Ravens 23-17 in the AFC Wildcard Game on January 6, 2019. Once again, both of Wilson’s tackles came on kickoff returns. Wilson tackled Ravens kickoff returner Ty Montgomery twice and once got help from teammate Rayshawn Jenkins in bringing Montgomery down.

Interestingly, Wilson is one of two players the Tiger-Cats signed out of Arkansas State University on Wednesday. The other was defensive end Ronheen Bingham.

In other Canadian Football League news on Thursday, CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie will be speaking to a House of Commons Finance Committee on Thursday. Due to coronavirus, the CFL season has been postponed and Amborsie is seeking $150 million in financial aid.
