The Quebec Remparts are in the 2023 Memorial Cup Final. On Monday, the Remparts clinched a spot thanks to a 3-1 win over the Western Hockey League champion Seattle Thunderbirds at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, British Columbia.
With the win, the Remparts improved to a record of two wins and zero losses. Quebec’s other win in the tournament to date came against the other Western Hockey League representative. On Friday night to begin the most prestigious hockey tournament run by the Canadian Hockey League, the Remparts defeated the Kamloops Blazers 8-3.
In the Remparts’s win on Monday, the Remparts got two goals from Theo Rochette. He was one of two Remparts players with a multi-point game as left winger Zachary Bolduc of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec had two assists. Bolduc was a first round draft pick, 17th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The other Remparts goal scorer was defenseman Charle Truchon of Matane, Quebec.
This was the first of back-to-back games for the Remparts in the Memorial Cup. They will next play the Ontario Hockey League champion Peterborough Petes on Tuesday. With a win, the Petes stay alive, as they are currently at zero wins and two losses.
