There will be two Canadians in the final 32 when the third round of Wimbledon begins on Friday. In the second round on Wednesday, Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ontario, the 15th seed, knocked out Robin Haase of the Netherlands 7-6, 7-5, 7-6, and Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal, Quebec, the 19th seed, knocked out Corentin Moutet of France, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Raonic had a terrific serve against Haase, as he collected 32 aces. He also won 83% of points on his first serve and 74% of points on his second serve. Raonic also had over twice as many winners as Haase, as the Canadian had 64 winners, while Haase only had 27.

Auger-Aliassime meanwhile won 18 more points than Moutet, as he had 140 while the Frenchman had 122. One area of Auger-Aliassime’s game he needs to work on is his serve. In his second round win he had nine aces and nine double faults.

Auger-Aliassime will next play Ugo Humbert of France on Friday. This is their first career meeting against each other and has been placed on court 1 by Wimbledon organizers.

Raonic will next play Reilly Opelka of the United States on Friday. Like Auger-Aliassime, Raonic is facing an opponent he has never played before. Opelka does have a Canadian connection in 2019 however. In February, Opelka defeated Brayden Schnur of Pickering, Ontario 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 in the final of the New York Open.
