Winnipeg Jets goaltender Eric Comrie of Edmonton, Alberta has recorded his first National Hockey League career shutout. He accomplished the feat in a 4-0 Winnipeg Jets win over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Comrie made nine saves in the first period, 10 saves in the second period, and 16 saves in the third period for 35 saves overall. Former Toronto Maple Leafs left winger James Van Riemsdyk led the Flyers with six shots on goal.

This was a meaningless game for both the Flyers and Jets. Both teams are not playoff bound.

Pierre-Luc Dubois of Ste-Agathe-Des-Monts, Quebec scored the game-winning goal at 5:23 on the power play in the first period from Josh Morrissey of Calgary, Alberta and Kyle Connor. It was his sixth game-winning goal of the season for the Jets.

On the season, Comrie has a record of nine wins, five regulation losses, and one loss in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.55 and a save percentage of .921.

Comrie’s first shutout came in his 27th NHL regular season game. He is the brother of former Edmonton Oilers Mike Comrie and Paul Comrie. Eric’s father Bill is the founder of the Brick, and was instrumental in founding the Brick Invitational Hockey Tournament at West Edmonton Mall.
