Four Canadians excel in rodeo on Day 5 of 2026 Calgary Stampede

Four Canadians had notable performances in rodeo on the fifth day of the 2026 Calgary Stampede. They were saddle bronc rider Kole Aschbacher of Arrowwood, Alberta, bull rider Jordan Hansen of Amisk, Alberta, steer wrestler Clay Guthrie of Ponoka, Alberta and ladies barrel racer Jennifer Neudorf of Bluffton, Alberta.

Aschbacher had the third best saddle bronc score of 85 points on Tuesday. He was behind Gus Gaillard of Morse, Texas (90 points), and Coleman Shallbetter of Gunnison, Colorado (87.5 points). Aschbacher moves into fifth place in the Pool B aggregate standings with $4500.

Hansen had the second best bull riding score of 87 points on Tuesday. He was behind only Tristen Hutchings of Monteview, Idaho, who had 88.5 points. Hansen is in third place in the Pool B aggregate standings with $7583.33. He is behind Hutchings ($15,333.33) and Noah Lee of Mineral Wells. Texas ($14,333.33).

Guthrie had the second fastest steer wrestling time of 4.1 seconds. The fastest steer wrestler on Tuesday was Trisyn Kalawaia of Hilo, Hawaii, who had a time of four seconds. Guthrie is now third in the Pool B aggregate standings with $8250.00. Gavin Soileau of Bunkie, Louisiana leads with $9500 and Kalawaia is second with $9000.

Neudorf had the second best ladies barrel racing time of 16.94 seconds. She was only behind Hayle Gibson-Stillwell of Redcrest, California, who had a time of 16.89 seconds. Neudorf is now fifth in the Pool B aggregate standings with $4416.67.

In the ladies’s breakaway roping, Caitlyn Dahm of Duffield, Alberta did not post a time on Tuesday. However, she is still in second place in the Pool B aggregate standings with $5500 thanks to her impressive time of 3.6 seconds on Monday.

Finally, in the chuckwagon racing, Jason Glass of High River, Alberta had the fastest time on Tuesday of 1:10.45 in the Rangeland Derby. The aggregate leader is Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, who has a time of 6:02.38.
