After a dramatic and emotional 104-103 win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, the Toronto Raptors evened their series at two games apiece with a 100-93 win over the Celtics on Saturday. While the Miami Heat have a commanding three games to zero lead over the Milwaukee Bucks, the series between the Raptors and Celtics is now a best of three.
In the Raptors’ seven-point win over the Celtics on Saturday, Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry each had double doubles. Siakam had 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Lowry had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Three other Raptors reached double digits in scoring as Serge Ibaka had 18 points, Fred VanVleet had 17 points, and OG Anunoby had 11 points. Lowry meanwhile led the Raptors with seven assists.
It was the third quarter which was the Raptors’ best quarter on Saturday. Heading into half time, the Raptors and Celtics were deadlocked at 49 points apiece. Then in the third stanza, the Raptors outscored the Celtics 32-24.
One area in the Celtics’ game that has been impressive over the first four games of the series has been their relentless defense, especially in one-on-one situations. The Raptors have been able to counter that effectively with solid shooting in three-point attempts. On Saturday, the Raptors made 17 three-pointers, while the Celtics only made seven.
