Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Toronto, Ontario is having an excellent postseason with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The reigning NBA MVP and NBA Finals MVP is averaging 29.1 points per game in eight postseason appearances.

What is noteworthy is the fact that the Thunder have won all eight of their playoff games to date. Oklahoma City swept the Phoenix Suns four games to none in the Western Conference first round playoff series by scores of 119-84, 120-107, 121-109, and 131-122, and then swept LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers four games to none in the Western Conference second round playoff series by scores of 108-90, 125-107, 131-108, and 115-110.

On Monday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, Gilgeous-Alexander scored 35 points, the most points he has had in a single game this series. In the process, he received high praise from former WNBA star Candace Parker, who is doing analysis work for the NBA playoffs on Prime. As Gilgeous-Alexander was falling to the floor in the third quarter, he got a shot off which he made. As a result, Parker stated that Gilgeous-Alexander was “one of the most proficient players in the history of the game.” The Toronto native is right there with legends Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
