Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mikael Kingsbury of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec won two gold medals this past weekend in back-to-back World Cup events from Mont Tremblant, Quebec. Kingsbury now has won 70 World Cup moguls titles, the most of all-time.
On Friday, Kingsbury won the gold medal with a score of 86.24 points. Walter Wallberg of Sweden won the silver medal with a score of 84.64 points. Ikuma Horishima of Japan won the bronze medal with a score of 83.17 points. Kingsbury reached the podium by 4.65 points over Kosuke Sugimoto of Japan, who was in fourth place with 81.59 points.
On Saturday, Kingsbury won the gold medal with a score of 85.59 points. Wallberg won the silver medal with 82.66 points. Horishima won the bronze medal with 78.78 points. Kingsbury won a medal by 8.25 points over Nick Page of the United States, who had a fourth place score of 77.34 points.
Kingsbury now has 392 points in the World Cup moguls standings. Horishima is in second with 380 points.
Kingsbury is going for his third consecutive Olympic medal at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. At age 29, he is literally one of the greatest freestyle skiers ever. He previously won silver at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and a gold at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, in addition to six gold medals at the World Freestyle Skiing Championships.
