Max Moffatt wins World Cup slopestyle skiing bronze in Switzerland

Max Moffatt of Guelph, Ontario won the bronze medal in a World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing event in Laax, Swizerland on Sunday. For Moffatt it was his fourth career World Cup medal.

Moffatt posted a score of 85.91 points. Birk Ruud of Norway won the gold medal with 87.01 points. Mac Forehand of the United States won the silver medal with 86.28 points. Moffatt reached the podium by 1.61 points. Alexander Hall of the United States finished in fourth place with 84.3 points.

Moffat’s first World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing medal was a gold medal on January 27. 2019 in Seiser Alm, Italy. That was followed by a silver medal in Stubai, Austria on November 20, 2021, and another silver medal in Tignes, France on March 12, 2022.

In the men’s World Cup slopestyle skiing standings, Moffatt is in fifth place with 100 points. Forehand leads with 160 points and Ruud is in second place with 136 points. Hall is in fourth place with 110 points, and Canadian Evan McEachran of Toronto, Ontario is in fourth place with 101 points.

This is the second of five World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing events this season. The next three are in Mammoth Mountain, California on February 3, in Tignes, France on March 16, and in Silvaplana, Switzerland on March 24. The bronze medal for Moffatt will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
