Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha win ice dance bronze in England

Marjorie Lajoie of Boucherville, Quebec and Zachary Lagha of Greenfield Park, Quebec won the bronze medal on Sunday in the ice dance event at the MK John Wilson Trophy from Sheffield, England. For Lajoie and Lagha, it was their second medal of the 2022 International Skating Union figure skating Grand Prix season. They previously won a bronze medal at Skate Canada last month from Mississauga, Ontario.

Lajoie and Lagha had a total score of 198.95 points. Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri of Italy won the gold medal with a total score of 213.74 points. Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson of Great Britain won the silver medal with a score of 205.56 points. Lajoie and Lagha reached the podium by 11.53 points. Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko of the United States finished in fourth place with a score of 187.42 points. The top four positions after the rhythm dance did not change after the original dance.

Lajoie and Lagha are currently in third place in the 2022 Ice Dance Grand Prix standings, and are in the hunt to qualify for the ISU Grand Prix Finals next month in Turin, Italy. The Canadian pairs team of Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec have already reached the finals.
