Kayle Osborne records first career PWHL shutout

It was a memorable Monday for New York Sirens goaltender Kayle Osborne of Ottawa, Ontario. In only Osborne’s third career Professional Women’s Hockey League game, she collected the shutout in a 3-0 New York Sirens win over the Ottawa Charge at Toronto Dominion Place in Ottawa.

Osborne made 31 saves overall. She made 12 saves in the first period, 10 saves in the second period and nine saves in the third period. Three Charge players led the team with four shots on goal each. They were Canadian Olympic gold medalist Emily Clark of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Danielle Serdachny of Edmonton, Alberta and Jincy Rose. Clark won the gold medal for Canada at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. 

This was also Osborne’s first PWHL victory. In three regular season games, she has a record of one win, one regulation loss, and one shootout loss, with one shutout, a goals against average of 1.47 and a save percentage of .954. This is Osborne’s first season in the PWHL after four exceptional seasons at Colgate University.

In the 2024-25 PWHL standings, the Sirens are in third place with 19 points. They have a record of four regulation wins, three wins in extra time, four regulation losses and one loss in extra time.
