Canada beats Chile and Lithuania in Women’s 3×3 Basketball Olympic Qualifying

Team Canada beat Chile and Lithuania in Women’s 3×3 Basketball Olympic Qualifying in Debrecen, Hungary on Thursday. Canada beat Chile 21-11 and Lithuania 19-16 in their first two games of the tournament.

In Canada’s win over Chile, Michelle Plouffe of Edmonton, Alberta led Canada with eight points and four rebounds. Katherine Plouffe of Edmonton led Canada with three key assists. Katherine Plouffe also had five points, while Paige Crozon of Humboldt, Saskatchewan had six points, and Kacie Bosch of Lethbridge, Alberta had two points and one rebound.

In Canada’s win over Lithuania, Michelle Plouffe led Canada with nine points, six rebounds and three key assists. Katherine Plouffe had six points and five rebounds. Bosch had two points and four rebounds, and Crozon had two points and one rebound.

On the men’s side, Canada split their two games. Canada beat Spain 18-14 and lost to Egypt 21-18. In Canada’s win over Spain, Kamar McKnight of Toronto, Ontario led Canada with seven points and six rebounds.

The top three teams in the men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball qualification tournaments are in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. So far, France, China, the United States, Azerbaijan, and Australia have qualified on the women’s side, and Serbia, the United States, China, Latvia and the Netherlands have qualified on the men’s side.
