Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario is in contention after the third round of the 2022 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions from the Lake Nona Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. Henderson is at -11, in fourth place, and two strokes back of the leader, Nelly Korda of Bradenton, Florida.

Henderson shot a third round score of four-under-par 68. She birdied the first, fifth, 13th and 14th holes on Saturday. Korda is at -13, Danielle Kang of San Francisco, California and Gaby Lopez of Mexico were tied for second place at -12, while the other player in contention is Japan’s Yuka Saso, who is in fifth place at -10.

Heading into round two, Henderson was in fifth place at seven-under-par, and three strokes back of Korda, who was at -10. On Friday, she also shot a score of four-under-par 68.  In the second round, Henderson had six birdies and two bogeys. She birdied the first, fourth, ninth, 11th, 12th, and 17th holes, and bogeyed the 16th and 18th holes. Kang and Lopez were at -9, Jessica Korda (Nelly’s sister) was at -8, while Celine Boutier of France was also tied for Henderson at fifth at -7.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions is different from the PGA’s Sentry Tournament of Champions because it includes players who have won over the last two years on the LPGA Tour rather than just one, as in the case with the men’s winners only event in Maui each January. Henderson qualified by winning the Hugel-Air Premia Los Angeles Open this past April, where she beat Jessica Korda by a stroke.
