The Toronto Argonauts have won the 111th Grey Cup. Toronto won the top prize in the Canadian Football League by beating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 41-24 from BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Blue Bombers entered the game as a 9.5 point favourite due to the fact that the Argonauts number one quarterback Chad Kelly was out with a broken leg suffered in the Eastern Final against the Montreal Alouettes. In came Nick Arbuckle, who was the game’s most valuable player. He completed 26 of 37 passes for 252 passing yards, two touchdown passes and two interceptions, along with two rushes for 11 rushing yards.

The major reason Toronto won was because of the ineffectiveness of Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros. He had four interceptions.

The most outstanding Canadian of the Grey Cup was wide receiver Dejon Brissett of Mississauga, Ontario. Brissett led the Argonauts with 45 yards receiving, and had a 17 yard touchdown catch from Arbuckle with seven minutes and 11 seconds left in the fourth quarter. The converted touchdown put the Argonauts up 24-16.

In all, there were nine Canadians who started for the Argonauts in the Grey Cup game. The other eight were linebacker Tunde Adeleke of Ottawa, Ontario, left guard Dylan Giffen of Strathroy, Ontario, 2024 Most Outstanding Canadian and left tackle Ryan Hunter of North Bay, Ontario, safety Royce Metchie of Brampton, Ontario, center Peter Nicastro of Calgary, Alberta, defensive lineman Robbie Smith of Brampton, wide receiver David Ungerer III of Toronto, Ontario, and right guard Anthony Vandal of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec.

This was the Argonauts’s 19th Grey Cup. They previously won in 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022 and 2024. Toronto’s 19 Grey Cups are the most all-time. Edmonton is second with 14 Grey Cups.
