According to Domenic Marinelli of www.cflnewshub.com on Saturday, the Montreal Alouettes and Edmonton Elks made a deal on Friday of last week. The Montreal Alouettes acquired defensive end Michael Moore from the Elks for offensive lineman Tony Washington and running back Martese Jackson.

Moore will be joining his third Canadian Football League team. He has previously played one season with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016, before four seasons with the Edmonton Football Team (2017 to 2019 with the Eskimos and 2021 with the Elks). In 2021, Moore had 19 defensive tackles, and two sacks. Both sacks came in the Elks’ opening game of the season, a 16-12 Edmonton loss to the Redblacks. In his career, Moore has had 69 defensive tackles, 17 sacks and one forced fumble. He won a Grey Cup with Ottawa in 2016.

Washington is returning to the Edmonton Football Team. While with Edmonton from 2014 to 2017, he won a Grey Cup in 2015. He has played in 129 CFL games. He also played with the Calgary Stampeders in 2011, the Toronto Argonauts in 2012 and 2013, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2017 and 2018, and the Alouettes in 2019 and 2021. Washington also won a Grey Cup in Toronto in 2012.

Like Moore and Washington, Jackson is also a Grey Cup champion. He won with the Argonauts in 2017. Like Washington, Jackson is returning to Edmonton after playing with them in 2018 and 2019. He only spent one season with the Alouettes in 2021. Last year Jackson played in three games, and was used mostly as a kick returner instead of a running back. He had 16 punt returns for 132 yards with two touchdowns, and one kickoff return for 16 yards.

In Jackson’s career, he has 26 carries for 128 yards and one touchdown. He also has 31 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown.
