Alexandria Loutitt wins Women’s World Cup ski jumping gold in Japan

Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Alexndria Loutitt of Calgary, Alberta has won her second World Cup gold medal and 10th World Cup medal of her career. On Saturday in Sapporo, Japan, Loutitt once again proved how she has been the most successful Canadian ski jumper of all-time.

Loutitt posted a winning score of 266.4 points in the women’s large hill event of 134 metres. Lisa Eder of Austria won the silver medal with a score of 253.7 points. Eirin Maria Kvandal of Norway won the bronze medal with a score of 253.1 points. Loutitt reached the podium by 14.5 points. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger of Austria finished in fourth place with a score of 251.9 points.

Loutitt’s first World Cup gold medal was also in Japan. It came in Zao on January 13, 2023.

In the World Cup women’s ski cross standings, Loutitt is in 11th place this season with 353 points. The World Cup leader is Katharina Schmid of Germany with a total score of 811 points.

Loutitt won the Olympic bronze medal in the mixed team event at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing alongside Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes of Toronto, Ontario, Matthew Soukup of Calgary, Alberta and Abigail Strate of Calgary. The gold medal in Sapporo, Japan will give Loutitt confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
