The Toronto Raptors were able to accomplish something they have never been able to do ever before in the history of their franchise on Friday. That is to win the first three games of a playoff series.
On Friday, the Raptors beat the Brooklyn Nets 117-92 in the Orlando bubble to take a commanding three games to none lead in their first round playoff series. Even when Toronto won the NBA Finals in 2019, they lost the first game to the Orlando Magic in the first round, two of the first three games to the Philadelphia 76ers in the second round, the first two games to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Final, and the second game of the NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.
In game three against the Nets, the Raptors were led by Pascal Siakam, who had 26 points. Four other Raptors players reached double digits in scoring. Fred VanVleet had 22 points, Serge Ibaka had 20 points, while Norman Powell and Kyle Lowry had 11 points each. Ibaka and Lowry also each had double doubles. Ibaka had 13 rebounds, and Lowry had 10 rebounds. Lowry led the Raptors with seven assists.
Game four of the series is on Sunday. It has a start time of 6:30 ET, with the Raptors on the verge of a sweep.
