Six top Canadians in 2026 NBA postseason

The NBA Play-In Tournament completed on Friday night and on Saturday, the 2026 NBA postseason officially starts. Here are the six best Canadians who will be in action.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker

The shooting guard from Toronto is having a breakout season with the Atlanta Hawks. Alexander-Walker is averaging 20.8 points per game, 3.7 assists per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and 1.3 steals per game. He has a field goal percentage of .459, three point percentage of .399, and a free throw percentage of .902. In the first round, the Hawks play the New York Knicks.

RJ Barrett 

The best Canadian on the Toronto Raptors, the Toronto native is an elite small forward. This season, Barrett averaged 19.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game and 3.3 assists per game. He has a field goal percentage of .491, three point percentage of .339, and free throw percentage of .717. The Raptors play the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round.

Dillon Brooks 

The small forward from Mississauga, Ontario has been terrific for the Phoenix Suns. This season, Brooks averaged 20.2 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game and one steal per game. He has a field goal percentage of .435, three point percentage of .344 and a free throw percentage of .842. The Suns play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 

The reigning NBA MVP and NBA Finals MVP is an All-Star point guard with the Thunder. This past season, Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31.1 points per game, 6.6 assists per game, 4.3 rebounds per game and 1.4 steals per game. The Toronto native had a field goal percentage of .553, three point percentage of .386, and free throw percentage of .879. Gilgeous-Alexander led the NBA with 7.9 free throws made per game, 616 two-point shots made and 540 free throws made.

Jamal Murray 

The Denver Nuggets point guard from Kitchener, Ontario was an All-Star for the first time in his career this season. He averaged 25.4 points per game, 7.1 assists per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. Murray had a field goal percentage of .483, three point percentage of .435 and a free throw percentage of .887. In the first round, the Nuggets will be playing the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Shaedon Sharpe 

The Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard from London, Ontario averaged 20.8 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, 2.6 assists per game and 1.4 steals per game. He had a field goal percentage of .452, three point percentage of .337 and free throw percentage of .787. In the first round Sharpe and the Trail Blazers will face the San Antonio Spurs.
