
The 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Olympic Trials began on Monday in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. After day one, there are six teams undefeated with a record of two wins and zero losses.
In Pool A, the teams are Rachel Homan of Ottawa, Ontario and Brendan Bottcher of Edmonton, Alberta; Brittany Tran of Red Deer, Alberta and Ryan Kleiter of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Laura Walker of Edmonton and Kirk Muyres of St. Gregor, Saskatchewan. In Pool B, the teams are Jocelyn Peterman of Red Deer and Brett Gallant of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Lisa Weagle of Ottawa, Ontario and John Epping of Toronto, Ontario; and Jaelyn Cotter and Jim Cotter of Vernon, British Columbia.
The winner of the tournament will represent Canada at the 2025 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The championship is also being used as a qualification for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. For the first time in 2026, Canadian curlers can represent Canada in mixed doubles and four person curling in Olympic competition.
In Tuesday’s morning action, two of the undefeated teams are playing against each other. Tran and Kleiter are facing Walker and Muyres. Then in the afternoon draw, Walker and Muyres are facing Homan and Bottcher. Then in the evening, Peterman and Gallant are facing Weagle and Epping.
