
Week 13 is now in the books in the Canadian Football League and five Canadians contributed to touchdowns on winning teams. The Canadians who helped their team find pay dirt and get the win were Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Brady Oliveira of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Calgary Stampeders wide receiver Ajou Ajou of Brooks, Alberta, Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Dhel Duncan-Busby of Vancouver, British Columbia, British Columbia Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke of Victoria, British Columbia, and Lions wide receiver Jevon Cottoy of Calgary, Alberta.
Oliveira had a one-yard touchdown run at the 13 second mark of the second quarter to put the Blue Bombers up 14-7 in a 44-28 win over the Montreal Alouettes on Friday. In the game, Oliveira had 16 rushes for 106 rushing yards and one catch for two yards. For the season, Oliveira has 155 rushes for 956 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, along with 31 catches for 228 receiving yards and one touchdown catch. With the win, the Blue Bombers improved to a record of six wins and five losses.
Ajou had a five-yard touchdown catch with 19 seconds left in the second quarter to put the Stampeders up 16-13 in a 28-23 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday. In the game, Ajou had one catch for five yards. For the season, Ajou has two catches for 20 receiving yards and one touchdown catch.
Duncan-Busby had an 11-yard touchdown catch with one minute and 29 seconds left in the first quarter to tie the game at seven in a 28-24 Roughriders win over the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday. In the game, Duncan-Busby had four catches for 82 receiving yards. For the season, Duncan-Busby has 25 catches for 356 receiving yards and four touchdown catches. With the win, the Roughriders are in second place in the West Division at seven wins and four losses.
Rourke had two touchdown passes for the Lions. The first was 10 yards to James Butler at 8:02 of the second quarter and the second was 14 yards to Cottoy at 3:56 of the fourth quarter. Rourke’s second touchdown pass put the Lions up 38-24 in a 45-24 win over the Ottawa Redblacks on Sunday. Rourke completed 22 of 25 passes for 355 passing yards, and one rush for nine yards. On the season, Rourke has completed 188 passes in 264 attempts for 2784 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also has 12 rushes for 138 rushing yards and two touchdown runs.
Cottoy had four catches for 62 yards in the game. For the season, he has 22 catches for 343 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. With the win, the Lions improved to a record of six wins and five losses.
