
Shea Theodore of Langley, British Columbia scored his first ever National Hockey League Stanley Cup Playoff overtime winner on Monday night. He accomplished the feat in a 5-4 Vegas Golden Knights win over the Utah Mammoth at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. With the win, the Golden Mammoth are tied at two games apiece in the best out of seven series. Game five shifts to Vegas on Wednesday night.
Theodore, a defenseman, scored the game winning goal with 52 seconds left in the extra period. Brett Howden of Calgary, Alberta and Jack Eichel had the assists.
Theodore was one of two Canadians to score for the Golden Knights. Howden had two goals and led the Golden Knights with three points.
So far in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Theodore has one goal for one point in four games and is a -3. He has one game-winning goal, nine shots on goal, 11 blocked shots, one hit, one takeaway, and seven giveaways.
In the regular season, Theodore had 10 goals and 29 assists for 39 points. He was a +19 with 24 penalty minutes, five power-play points, three game-winning goals, 130 shots on goal, 87 blocked shots, two hits, 23 takeaways, and 90 giveaways.
Both hits came in Golden Knights wins. The first came in a 4-1 Golden Knights win over the St. Louis Blues on November 15, and the second came in a 4-0 Golden Knights win over the Chicago Blackhawks on March 14.
