According to Rogers Sportsnet on Monday, the San Jose Sharks traded goaltender Adin Hill of Comox, British Columbia to the Vegas Golden Knights for a fourth round draft pick in the 2024 National Hockey League Entry Draft. The Golden Knights will be Hill’s third NHL team as he has played four seasons with the Arizona Coyotes and one season with the San Jose Sharks.
In 2021-22, Hill had a record of 10 wins, 11 regulation losses, and one loss in extra time, two shutouts, a goals against average of 2.66 and a save percentage of .906. Hill’s shutouts came in a 5-0 Sharks win over the Montreal Canadiens on October 19, 2021, and in a 5-0 Sharks win over the Los Angeles Kings on March 12, 2022. In Hill’s shutout win over the Canadiens, he had 21 saves and in Hill’s shutout win over the Kings, he had 29 saves.
In Hill’s career, he has a record of 29 wins, 32 regulation losses and five losses in extra time. He has a goals against average of 2.74, save percentage of .908 and five shutouts.
It will now be interesting to see who the Golden Knights will go with as a goaltender in 2022-23. Robin Lehner is out for the season with hip surgery. Hill meanwhile is one of four Canadian goaltenders in Vegas under contract who are in the mix for playing time. He is joined by Laurent Brossoit of Port Alberni, British Columbia, Michael Hutchinson of Barrie, Ontario, and Logan Thompson of Calgary, Alberta.
