
For only the second time ever, Canada has won three games at the 2026 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. For only the second time ever, Canada has defeated a team from Asia.
On Wednesday, Canada defeated South Korea 5-1 to advance to the lower round four match against Japan. Team Canada is represented this year by Little Mountain Little League in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The only other time Canada won three games at the Little League World Series came in 1998. That year Canada was represented by Langley Little League in British Columbia, and Canada won the International Pool Play with a perfect record of three wins and zero losses. They defeated Mexico 4-3, Japan 10-5 and Saudi Arabia 9-3 before losing to Japan 3-2 in the semifinals. This year, Canada’s other wins came over Australia by a score of 4-0 on Saturday, and over Panama by a score of 3-2 on Monday.
In Canada’s upset win over South Korea on Tuesday, Canada got off to a great start as they had five hits off the first nine South Korea pitches. Ju Won Kim struggled mightily, and South Korea was never able to regroup. In all, Canada had seven hits, with shortstop Cruz Krpan leading the way with two hits. Canada won the game despite the fact that South Korea walked 11 times. Canada outhit South Korea 7-3.
