The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed running back Jeremy Langford of Wayne, Michigan according to TSN on Thursday. Langford is coming to the Canadian Football League after three seasons in the National Football League. He was with the Chicago Bears in 2015 and 2016, and with the Atlanta Falcons in 2018.

In 29 games in the NFL, Langford had 219 rushes for 762 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had 41 catches for 421 yards and one touchdown reception.

Langford had back-to-back exceptional games with the Bears during his 2015 National Football League rookie season. On November 9, 2015, Langford had 72 yards rushing and 70 yards receiving, to go along with a touchdown and two point conversion in a 22-19 Bears win over the San Diego Chargers. Then on November 15, 2015, Langford had 20 carries for 73 yards and seven catches for 109 yards in a 37-13 Bears win over the St. Louis Rams. The major reason why Langford got significant playing time in that period was because he was in for Matt Forte, who was injured during that time due to a knee injury.

A cousin of Washington Redskins running back Peyton Barber of Alpharetta, Georgia, it will be interesting to see how Langford bounces back after not playing professional football in two years. He was initially drafted by the Bears in the fourth round, 106th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft. Langford also played his college football at Michigan State.
