
The 12th week of the 2026 Canadian Football League regular season is now complete and four Canadians contributed to touchdowns for winning teams. They were British Columbia Lions quarterback Nathan Rourke of Victoria, British Columbia, Lions wide receiver Jevon Cottoy of Calgary, Alberta, Montreal Alouettes wide receiver Tyson Philpot of Delta, British Columbia and Toronto Argonauts wide receiver Kevin Mital of Longueuil, Quebec.
Philpot had two touchdown catches on Thursday in a dominant 46-16 Alouettes win over the Ottawa Redblacks. He had a four-yard touchdown catch from Davis Alexander at the end of the first quarter to tie the game at seven. Philpot then had a five-yard touchdown catch from Alexander at 1:45 of the fourth quarter to complete the scoring. Philpot had nine catches for 75 receiving yards, and now has 83 catches for 1229 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches for the season. With the win, the Alouettes improved to a record of nine wins and one loss, and are the best team in the CFL.
Mital had a 12-yard touchdown catch from Chad Kelly in a 39-20 Argonauts win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday. His major score put the Argonauts up 22-17 at 5:45 of the third quarter. In the game, Mital had seven catches for 53 receiving yards. For the season, he has 50 catches for 658 receiving yards and two touchdowns. With the win, the Argonauts improved to a record of five wins and five losses, and are in second place in the East Division.
Rourke completed 22 of 28 passes for 355 receiving yards, with two touchdowns and one interception in a 30-16 Lions win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday. He added one run for 19 rushing yards. Rourke had a 23-yard touchdown pass to Cottoy at 3:14 of the second quarter to put the Lions up 13-6 at the time. He then had a four-yard touchdown catch to Keon Hatcher at 6:33 of the third quarter which put the Lions up 20-6. Cottoy had six catches for 110 receiving yards.
For the season, Rourke has completed 166 passes in 239 attempts for 2429 passing yards, 11 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. He has 11 rushes for 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Cottoy for the season has 18 catches for 281 receiving yards and one touchdown. Like the Argonauts, the Lions improved to a record of five wins and five losses, and tied for third in the West with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
