Team Canada has stayed alive at the 2026 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. On Monday, Canada, which is represented by Little Mountain Little League in Vancouver, British Columbia, defeated Panama 3-2 in elimination play. The game took seven innings in order to be completed. Canada and Panama were tied at zero after six innings and all five runs were scored in the seventh inning.
Canada won the game despite only having one hit. The single in the seventh inning came from second baseman Connor Ross. The three Canadians who scored a run were first baseman Jacob Massel, Jean Ramos and left fielder Connor Matsuda. Ross, Matsuda and catcher Jason Mezzarobba were the three Canadians with a run batted in. A key play in the inning was a dropped ball by Panama catcher Edwards Diaz. The error put Canada on the scoreboard and gave them momentum.
On the mound, two Canadians pitched extremely well. Massel, the starting pitcher, threw five shutout innings and had seven strikeouts. Hw gave up three walks and two hits, and threw 85 pitches, of which 49 pitches were strikes. The relief pitcher and winning pitcher was Cruz Krpan. In two innings of work, Krpan only gave up one earned run, and had three strikeouts compared to zero walks. He gave up one hit and threw 31 pitches of which 21 pitches were strikes.
Canada will next play South Korea on Tuesday in their third straight elimination game in the double knockout format. South Korea beat Canada 7-0 this past Wednesday.
