The Toronto Raptors have now taken a 2-0 series lead in their first round playoff series with the Brooklyn Nets. While playing their entire postseason in Orlando, Florida, due to coronavirus, the Raptors defeated the Nets 104-99 on Wednesday.
Four Raptors reached double digits in scoring. Fred VanVleet of Rockford, Illinois led the Raptors in scoring for the second straight playoff game. After he had 30 points in game one, VanVleet had 24 points in game two. He was in fact tied for the Raptors lead in scoring alongside Norman Powell of San Diego, California. Powell had his 24 points while coming off the bench, while VanVleet was a starter.
Two other Raptors players reached double digits in scoring. Kyle Lowry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had 21 points, and Pascal Siakam of Douala, Cameroon had 19 points. VanVleet also had a double double, as he notched 10 assists.
Toronto was actually trailing in the contest after three quarters by a score of 80-74. However, a strong fourth quarter, which saw the Raptors outscore the Nets 30-19, saw Toronto win the basketball game by five points.
This was considered a clean win for Toronto despite the fact they won by only five points, versus the 24-point victory in game one on Monday. The Raptors only committed nine turnovers in the contest. Game three of the series is on Friday.
