Oilers one win away from reaching 2022 Western Conference Final

The Edmonton Oilers are one win away from reaching the 2022 Western Conference Finals. On Tuesday in game four of the Western Conference Semifinals, they defeated the Calgary Flames 5-3 at Rogers Place to take a 3-1 lead in the best out of seven series. 

Three Canadians on the Oilers had a multi-point game. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of Burnaby, British Columbia and Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia each scored twice. Meanwhile, Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario had two assists. McDavid has had an outstanding playoff to date. In 11 games, he leads all players with 19 assists and 25 points. The other Oilers goal scorer was Zach Hyman of Toronto, Ontario.

Leon Draisaitl also continues to have a strong playoff for the Oilers. He led the team in scoring with three assists.

Edmonton actually blew a 3-0 lead in the contest. The Flames marched back to tie the game at three, and recorded their game-tying goal on a wacky 132 foot shot by Rasmus Andersson, which beat Oilers goaltender Mike Smith. All three goals by the Flames were scored by Swedes, as the other two were scored by Elias Lindholm and Mikael Backlund.

Game five of the Western Conference semifinals will be on Thursday. The series shifts to Calgary.
