National Hockey League goaltender Connor Ingram of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan retired on Friday at the age of 29 according to nhl.com. He played five NHL seasons with four different organizations. Ingram was with the Nashville Predators in 2021-22, the Arizona Coyotes from 2022 to 2024, the Utah Mammoth from 2024 to 2025, and the Edmonton Oilers from 2025 to 2026. The Coyotes and Mammoth franchises are officially considered as two different organizations as Utah was granted an expansion team by the NHL at the same time Arizona folded. Instead of having an expansion draft, the Arizona Coyotes players moved to Salt Lake City.
Ingram played 134 games in the NHL. He had a record of 55 wins, 54 regulation losses and 18 losses in extra time with nine shutouts, a goals against average of 3.01 and a save percentage of .901. In 2023-24, Ingram led the NHL with six shutouts while with the Coyotes. He was tied with Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry of Surrey, British Columbia, Charlie Lindgren of the Washington Capitals and Sergei Bobrovsky of the Florida Panthers.
The retirement of Ingram might have been a little surprising. That is because he had a very respectable season with the Edmonton Oilers in 2025-26. He had a record of 16 wins, 10 regulation losses and three losses in extra time. Ingram also had two shutouts with a goals against average of 2.60 and a save percentage of .899. The first shutout came in a 5-0 Oilers win over the St. Louis Blues on January 18 and the second shutout came in a 3-0 Oilers win over the Seattle Kraken on March 31.
