
The Seattle Kraken are red hot at the moment and on Thursday, had goaltender Martin Jones of North Vancouver, British Columbia to thank. At the Toronto Dominion Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, Jones made 27 saves as the Kraken beat the Boston Bruins 3-0. With the win, the Kraken have now won seven straight games, including six straight games on the road. This was also Boston’s first regulation loss at home all season long.
This was Jones’s second shutout this week. On Monday, he blanked the Montreal Canadiens 4-0.
From an offensive standpoint on Thursday, the Kraken got goals from two Canadians. Brandon Tanev of Toronto, Ontario opened the scoring at 7:14 of the first period with the game-winning goal. Then Jaden Schwartz of Wilcox, Saskatchewan scored the empty netter with one minute and 50 seconds left in the contest to close out the scoring and give the Kraken a 3-0 win. Defenseman Vince Dunn of Mississauga, Ontario had the primary assist on the Schwartz goal.
Jones has had a great record with Seattle in 2022-23. He has a record of 20 wins, five regulation losses, and three losses in extra time, three shutouts, a goals against average of 2.68, and a save percentage of .898. The Kraken are now at 54 points and are in third place in the Pacific Division.
