Women’s volleyball in Canada has a lot of momentum at the moment. That is because Canada has qualified for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles in women’s volleyball. This is the first time since the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta that Canada has qualified for the Olympic Games in women’s volleyball. At the Olympics 30 years ago, Canada won one match in five games. Canada defeated Peru 16-17, 15-6, 11-15, 15-19, 15-12 in a five set thriller. It was a different scoring system at the time. Teams could win a set once they scored 17 points. They did not have to win by two points. The first four sets were up to 15 instead of 25 as it is today, and teams could only win a point on their serve.
