Lewis Irving and Emile Nadeau win World Cup aerials medals in Quebec

Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Lewis Irving of Quebec City, Quebec and Emile Nadeau of Prevost, Quebec each won medals for Canada on the weekend in World Cup Aerials events in Lac-Beauport, Quebec. Irving won a silver medal on Saturday and Irving won a bronze medal on Sunday.

On Saturday, Irving had a second place score of 102.5 points. Guangpu Qi of China won the gold medal with a score of 124 points. Christopher Lillis of the United States won the bronze medal with a score of 85.4 points. Irving reached the podium by 20.2 points over Noe Roth of the United States, who had a fourth place score of 80.3 points.

On Sunday, Nadeau had a third place score of 95.8 points. Qi won the gold medal with 110.56 points. Xindi Wang of China won the silver medal with 105.88 points. Nadeau reached the podium by 0.96 points over Xinpeng Li of China, who finished on fourth place with 95.02 points.

For Irving, this was his eighth World Cup medal. He has won two silver medals and six bronze medals. For Nadeau, this was his third World Cup medal. He previously won bronze in Almaty, Kazakhstan on March 19, 2023, and bronze in Lac-Beauport on February 10, 2024.

In the World Cup men’s aerials standings, Nadeau is in sixth place with 116 points and Irving is in ninth place with 97 points. Qi leads with 245 points.

Irving won the bronze medal in mixed team aerials at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. The medals for Irving and Nadeau will give them confidence as they prepare for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
