Emily Clark named PWHL First Star of the Week

Canadian Olympic gold medalist Emily Clark of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has been named the Professional Women’s Hockey League First Star of the Week for the period from February 17-23, 2025. The Ottawa Charge forward had two goals and two assists for four points in two games.

Clark opened the week with one assist on a goal by Tereza Vanisova in a 3-2 Charge loss to the Boston Fleet on Thursday. In the game, Clark also had four shots on goal. Clark then had two goals and one assist, including the game-winning goal on Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Montreal Victoire at Toronto Dominion Place on Saturday. All of Clark’s points against Montreal were even strength, as she was a +3 with four more shots. The game-winning goal came at 16:41 of the second period from Mannon McMahon and Aneta Tejralova.

For the season, Clark has six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 19 games. She is a +3 with eight penalty minutes, two faceoff wins, two game-winning goals, and 59 shots on goal. The other game-winning goal came on January 7, in a 3-2 Ottawa win over the New York Sirens. Clark scored at 9:07 of the second period to put Ottawa up 3-1 at the time. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Brianne Jenner of Oakville, Ontario and Zoe Boyd of Caledon, Ontario had the assists. Jenner and Clark won the gold medal for Canada at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing. Jenner also won gold for Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
