
Elizabeth Hosking of Longueuil, Quebec won the bronze medal in a World Cup women’s halfpipe snowboarding event at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta on Friday. For Hosking, it was her third career World Cup medal and first of the season.
Hosking had a third place score of 79.25 points. Sean Tomita of Japan won the gold medal with a score of 90.75 points. Maddie Mastro of the United States won the silver medal with 85.25 points. Hosking earned a medal by four points. Xuetong Cai of China finished in fourth place with a score of 75.25 points.
This was the final women’s World Cup halfpipe event of the season. Hosking finished in 10th place with 129 points. The Crystal Globe winner for 2024-25 was Mastro with 310 points.
Hosking’s two previous World Cup medals were silver medals. Her first World Cup women’s halfpipe snowboarding medal came in Copper Mountain, Colorado on December 16, 2022. Hosking’s second World Cup women’s halfpipe snowboarding medal came in Calgary on February 19, 2023.
Next up for Hosking is the World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland. She will compete on March 29. Hosking won a silver medal at the 2023 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia. The bronze medal in Calgary will give Hosking confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
