Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman named NL Player of the Week

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday for the week from September 5-11. The veteran infielder represents Canada internationally despite the fact he was born in Fountain Valley, California. That is because both of his parents came from Ontario.

In six games, Freeman batted .546 with three home runs and eight runs batted in. According to Henry Palattella of mlb.com, Freeman collected a base hit in all six games. He also scored seven runs and had 12 hits, two doubles, four walks, and one sacrifice.

In 2022, Freeman is batting .330 with 19 home runs and 90 runs batted in. During 546 at bats and 624 plate appearances, Freeman has scored 103 runs, and has 180 hits, 45 doubles, two triples, 11 stolen bases, 66 walks, an on base prercentage of .402, slugging percentage of .524, 286 total bases, five times hit by a pitch, and seven sacrifice flies. Freeman’s .330 batting average, 45 doubles and 180 hits leads the Major Leagues.

The Dodgers meanwhile are the first team in the Major Leagues to have qualified for the 2022 postseason so far. They have a record of 97 wins and 43 losses. The Dodgers also lead the San Diego Padres by whopping 20.5 games in the National League West with 22 games left on the regular season schedule.
