Devils sign right winger Anthony Mantha

The New Jersey Devils have signed right winger Anthony Mantha of Longueuil, Quebec according to Chris Fieldhouse of SB Nation on Wednesday. Mantha signed a two-year contract worth $4.75 million.

The Devils are Mantha’s sixth National Hockey League franchise. He previously played six seasons with the Detroit Red Wings from 2016 to 2021, four seasons with the Washington Capitals from 2021 to 2024, one season with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2024, one season with the Calgary Flames in 2024, and one season with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2025 to 2026.

In 81 games with the Penguins in 2025-26, Mantha had 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 points. He was a +10 with 43 penalty minutes, 13 power-play points, two game-winning goals, 152 shots on goal, 14 faceoff wins, 40 blocked shots, 52 hits, 20 takeaways and 82 giveaways.

Mantha’s first game-winning goal in 2025-26 came on March 30, 2026 in an 8-3 Penguins win over the New York Islanders. It came with five minutes and 25 seconds left in the second period to put the Penguins up 4-3 at the time. This was an all-Canadian goal as Justin Brazeau of New Liskeard, Ontario and defenseman Parker Wotherspoon of Surrey, British Columbia had the assists.

Mantha’s second game-winning goal in 2025-26 came on March 31, 2026, one day after his first game-winning goal. It came in a 5-1 Penguins win over the Detroit Red Wings. Mantha put the Penguins up 2-0 at 8:34 of the first period. Connor Dewar of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba and Evgeni Malkin had the assists.
