The Bulldogs organization of the Ontario Hockey League will remain permanently in Brantford according to Shelby Knox of CTV News on Wednesday. The new ownership group led by Edmonton Oilers superstar Zach Hyman of Toronto, Ontario, is committed to keeping the Bulldogs in Brantford for the next 40 years.

The fact that the Bulldogs franchise is staying in Brantford is an interesting story itself. On February 9, 2023, the Bulldogs announced they would be moving from Hamilton to Brantford starting in the 2023-24 season. The reason was because renovations were being made to the FirstOntario Centre, which is also the host venue for the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League. However, the level of interest in the Brantford Bulldogs has been significant and it just made sense for the team to stay.

Hyman scored 54 goals for the Oilers last season and has 15 goals in 40 games this season. He is a major part of the most exciting team in the National Hockey League.

There is also another obvious connection between the Oilers and Brantford. The greatest athlete in the history of civilization also comes from Brantford. Wayne Gretzky is a global icon, and the all-time NHL leader in goals (894), assists (1963), points (2857), even strength goals (617), and shorthanded points (73).
