Amy Fraser wins women’s halfpipe skiing World Cup bronze in Colorado

Amy Fraser of Halifax, Nova Scotia won a World Cup women’s halfpipe skiing bronze medal in Aspen, Colorado on Sunday. For Fraser, it was her fifth World Cup medal.

Fraser posted a third place score of 86.75 points for her first World Cup medal of the season. Zoe Atkin of Great Britain won the gold medal with a score of 90 points. Fanghui Li of China won the silver medal with a score of 88.5 points. Fraser reached the podium by 2.25 points over Svea Irving of the United States, who had 84.5 points in fourth place.

In the World Cup women’s halfpipe skiing standings, Fraser is in fifth place with 185 points. Ailing Eileen Gu of China leads with 300 points. Atkin is in second with 261 points, Li is third with 213 points, and Irving is fourth with 210 points.

Fraser has one gold medal, two silver medals and two bronze medals in her World Cup career. She also won gold in Mammoth Mountain, California on February 2, 2024, silver in Copper Mountain, Colorado on December 17, 2022, silver in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on February 15, 2024, and bronze in Secret Garden, China on December 9, 2023.

There is one more women’s halfpipe skiing World Cup event this season. That is in Calgary on February, 15. The World Cup bronze medal will give Fraser confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
