
Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Alexandria Loutitt of Calgary, Alberta won the bronze medal on Friday in a Women’s Ski Jumping World Cup in Lake Placid, New York. According to Maxime Bernier of the Canadian Olympic Committee, this was the first time a Women’s World Cup ski jumping competition has ever taken place in the United States.
Loutitt had a third place score of 273.2. Nika Prevc of Slovenia won the gold medal with a score of 295.7. Eirin Maria Kvandal of Norway won the silver medal with a score of 283.6. Loutitt reached the podium by 3.8 points. Selina Freitag of Germany finished in fourth place with a score of 269.4 points.
This was Loutitt’s second World Cup medal this season. She previously won gold in Sapporo, Japan on January 18. In all, Loutitt has won 10 World Cup women’s ski jumping medals. She has won two gold medals, four silver medals and four bronze medals.
In the Women’s World Cup ski jumping standings, Loutitt is in 10th place with 521 points. The leader is Prevc with 1133 points.
Loutitt won the Olympic bronze medal in the mixed team event at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing alongside Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes of Toronto, Ontario, Matthew Soukup of Calgary, Alberta and Abigail Strate of Calgary. The gold medal in Lake Placid, New York will give Loutitt confidence as she prepares for the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo.
