Adin Hill of Comox, British Columbia recorded his third career National Hockey League playoff shutout on Friday. He accomplished the feat in a 2-0 Vegas Golden Knights win over the Dallas Stars. With the win, the Golden Knights won game six of the best out of seven first round playoff series and have forced a seventh and deciding game on Sunday night in Dallas, Texas.
Hill made 23 saves. He made six saves in the first period, 12 saves in the second period, and five saves in the third period. Esa Lindell and Joe Pavelski led the Stars with four shots on goal each.
Offensively for the Golden Knights, Vegas received goals from captain and former Ottawa Senator Mark Stone of Winnipeg, Manitoba and defenseman and former Calgary Flame Noah Hanifin. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Alex Pietrangelo of King City, Ontario set up Stone. Pietrangelo won a gold medal for Canada in men’s ice hockey at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.
Hill’s two prior postseason shutouts came during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the year the Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup. Hill blanked the Stars twice. The first time came in game three of the Western Conference Finals, a 4-0 Vegas win over Dallas. The second time came in game six, a 6-0 Vegas win.
