Toronto Raptors make the 2022 NBA Playoffs

The Toronto Raptors are postseason bound. On Tuesday, the Raptors clinched a top-six spot in the Eastern Conference and avoided participation in the play-in tournament with a 118-108 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Heading into Tuesday’s play, the Raptors needed a win over Atlanta and an Orlando Magic win over the Cleveland Cavaliers to clinch a spot. The Magic came through with a 120-115 upset win despite having the worst record in the entire National Basketball Association.

In the Raptors’ win over the Hawks, Pascal Siakam had a double-double as he had 31 points and 13 rebounds. Rookie Scottie Barnes also had a double-double as he had 19 points and 14 rebounds. Four more Raptors reached double digits in scoring. Chris Boucher of Montreal, Quebec had 18 points, Gary Trent Jr. had 14 points, Fred VanVleet had 12 points and Precious Achiuwa had 11 points.

The Raptors have three games left in the regular season. They host the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, and the Houston Rockets on Friday, before traveling to New York to face the Knicks on Sunday.

Toronto is currently in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 46 wins and 33 losses. There are 10 other teams that have clinched a playoff spot. They are the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz.
