Teal Harle wins World Cup big air skiing bronze in Atlanta

Teal Harle of Campbell River, British Columbia won a World Cup big air skiing bronze medal in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday. For Harle it was his fifth career World Cup medal.

Harle posted a score of 185.25 points. He reached the podium by 0.75 points over Birk Ruud of Norway, who was in fourth place with 184.5 points. Alexander Hall of the United States won the gold medal with 187.5 points. Antoine Adelisse of France won the silver medal with 186.5 points.

The World Cup in Atlanta was the last big air skiing event of the 2019-20 season. Harle finished in third place with 185 points. Ruud had the most points with 230 and Hall was in second with 200 points.

Prior to his bronze medal in Atlanta, Harle won the gold medal at a slopestyle skiing World Cup in Silvaplana, Switzerland on March 3, 2017 and another gold medal in a slopestyle skiing World Cup in Mammoth Mountain, California on January 1, 2018. The last three Word Cup medals for Harle have been in big air skiing. In addition to the bronze medal in Atlanta, Harle won a bronze medal in Quebec City, Quebec on March 24, 2018 and a silver medal in Beijing on December 14, 2019. The silver medal in Beijing last week has added significance because it was on the same course that will host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
